Hardware Stupid media question

When I got my Wii, I burned games on Verbatim DVD-R, after they ran out, I got Verbatim DVD-R Photo Printable, nothing seem different, they ran out and I bought another Photo Printable pack, I've noticed many backups I burn on these are making lots of noise in the Wii, while the other ones don't, so I decided to buy a normal Verbatim DVD-R, with the Photo Printable thingy, and my dad got me Verbatim DVD-R Glossy Printable, which is not what I watned

So, does it even make a difference? I don't know if I should open the pack or replace it with a normal one

they are all the same top quality discs with the media code: MCC 03RG20

if you burn with ImgBurn like you should, it would tell you this.

don't use photo printable unless you are printing labels, i find that the label on the disc tend to weigh more so the wii may struggle, also don't burn at very high speeds, max speed is 6x no more than that as that is the speed the wii drive reads the discs.

you seem to have got it right with the media though.

I tried burning with the Glossy Printable, still noisy, and the Wii won't make noises when I use my older backups..
Im burning at 2.4x with ImgBurn
Should I keep on searching the none-printable media?

Burn Speed is not equal to Read Speed.

And besides, the backup loader reads discs at 3X, does that mean no more than 3X speed when burning?

I burn at the speed the discs are labled at.

Verbatim 16X burned at 16X with ImgBurn.

Yup - we have all gone through this phase and disproved the speed theories - burn at max on most burners and discs and your fine to be honest.
Printable media should be fine but a heavier disc means more weight for the wii drive to spin which may lead to slower spinning and a bit of a slower read. The noise you may be hearing might be the top of the disc hitting of the metal clip a the top of the DVD drive - on a thicker disc it may touch slightly.
