Hacking Stupid Cracked Intros!

This is to Gamer4Life because I did not want to quote his absurd post: If you don't have anything constructive to say then why are you posting here? Oh yeah, you just wanted to complain!!! Is your vocabulary that limited to where every other word you type is a foul obscenity? You complaining about someone else "complaining" is worse than the person who started it, and even so I was stating my opinion and asking why it was they added the intro's,! I don't really see where that is complaining?

Anyways if you had read my last post or even the first post I made in this topic you would have seen that it's not a complaint but a question to why these "release groups" feel the need to insert extra data into a rom that they likely didn't even dump themselves in the first place....at least you would have seen that if you had an ounce of intelligence, but I guess your previous posts already showed everyone your level of intellect!

I don't like them either... but there's no sense in bitchin' and moanin'. I agree with everyone that says its not that big of a deal and that you're getting the game for free so sit down, shaddup and play your game!
This

If you had a flash cart that couldn't play a certain game and won't be updated for a while, then you'd be begging for a crack, intro or not.
I used to think intros were annoying too (they still are), but really, the only thing that matters is being able to play the damn game.

Have there even been any cracktro releases of late? I thought the teams might have given up when cards started removing intros.

I honestly like the intros

The cards that can do that are the ones that don't need the patches in the first place.
No reason for them to stop making cracks.

you guys know that you can just disable it in less than a minute (with the right tutorial), right?

Besides the code to remove them comes out as the same time as the release.

I don't think the intros are actually removed though. If there is only one hex code that must mean that they are only disabled. The code for the intro will still be in the rom. This means they are not releasing a clean dump because the intro data will always be there. I wish the scene would change this rule:

Code:
1.4)ÂÂFor the sake of better current and future flashcart compatibility and to
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ keep ROM data consistent, full untouched, unmodified, unaltered dumps
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ are prefered. However, if an altered/introed/cracked ROM is released on
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ the scene before an untouched ROM then it will be allowed.
Clean dumps should be required not preferred. Modified roms should be nuked immediately. It makes more sense to release one clean dump at the beginning and release a patch separately if they really want to.

[title:On a side note]
Some groups in the psp scene have been releasing 2kb underdumps because they are still using the M33 dumper instead of pspfiler. I haven't found any rules for the psp scene either. No rules means no one will take the time to proper the underdumps. Luckily the dumps are easily fixed by inserting 2kb of 00s at the end of the file with a hex editor if someone wants a full dump. After that the size and size on disk will match.

The Wii scene seems to be fine.

As for the Xbox 360 scene, I don't mind that they only allow the first english regionfree release as long as there are stealth files available for my region that I can patch with. The problem lies here within the abgx360 database. Only some of the stealth file uploaders put in their .ini files what the region of their disc is. It would be nice if all of them put the region of the disc they ripped in their .ini files.

Also, the rules for the Xbox 360 will have to be updated once the new 0800 fw comes out so that SSv2, AP2.5 data, and SplitVid are required.

Too bad I don't really have a say in this case.

I don't see anything wrong with those intros. Just skip them dude.. It's nothing to complain about... I crap load of GBA roms have those custom intros and I don't mind'em at all..

You can't. The one on Tetris Party Deluxe, you had to sit through it.
