Hello,
When playing through the JP and US versions of Megaman Starforce 3:Black Ace and Red Joker, I encounter a strange bug that causes video to freeze and the system to stop responding. However, the audio keeps on going at it.
The freezes are inconsistent. While they do occur around a certain area(currently Spade Magnes R in my US ROM) they occur at different points. It's worth noting that these issues do not occur on No$GBA.
I have tried Wood R4 1.18, R4 default FW 1.18, YSmenu, and R4 1.23, which is the reccomended version from an internet compatibility chart I found. My cart is an original R4(only accepts 1-2GB micro SD, non SDHC). The memory card has been formatted thoroughly and correctly multiple time. The microSD model is a Kingston 2GB MicroSD.
I run this on an original nintendo DS Phat. The cart is not loose in the slot, and I have done the paper trick with cardstock inside of the cart itself.
I do not experience these kinds of freezes with retail carts, nor other ROMs. I have played through a good chunk of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow with no issues whatsoever.
Examples of the freezes on both JP and US Red Joker:
