Sorry. Wasn't trying to be snippy about it or take your words out of context. But, like you say, there are games that don't work with EZ4 Team's old patches or my patch. Part of getting people to buy an EZ4 is precisely that patches "just work" and that means the EZ4 Team can't expect to 100% rely upon user complaints. They've got to do their own testing. Similarly, if I really want to fix the EZ4 patches myself, I can't expect to reply 100% on user complaints. If I were to make a release with some implicit or explicit claims about compatibility, then the onus is on me.

I guess, put another way, people vote with their dollars on the EZ4. And people vote with their positive or negative comments (and hence my reputation). It's not that I owe people stuff implicitly or that people are owed a good, complete patch set. About the only thing I'd say really is that the problem is in part the EZ4 Team's fault because of incomplete testing and an unclear reporting system for problems/not fixing stuff for a long time/at all. If they had made a clear reporting system, I'd be more on board with the "blame the user".

Of course, it's not really a binary thing. Just, it's a lot harder for me to blame users for things they haven't said. Now, if they started making demands of me over promises I never made.. :)
