I couldn't find anywhere else to post this.

I'm having issues with my stereo its a Sony HDC-N250, It's playing sound out of L and R but the L sound is a lot less loud, i have checked everything out and it seems as though its an issue with the L RCA jack, i was just wondering if RCA jacks are replaceable OR if there was another way i could fix this... Anyone?

I assume this means if you plug the right speaker into the left port it dulls down and the left one becomes good again.

RCA jacks do break and they come in many form factors. Before we get to that though- are you sure it is not a bit of corrosion/grime on the port itself (clean it with something) or the port having a bad solder join (wiggling it might have made it come back- if so reflow or otherwise repair the joins)

If it is something else it seems the internet was all too happy to give me a service manual http://www.givemefile.net/smanuals/hi-fi_h.../file/4275.html

As for the jacks they are fairly common but as I am not all that familiar with sourcing such things in Australia http://au.element14.com/jsp/search/browse....alues%3D1002241
Frankly though you should be able to pick something up that will work from a street level electronics shop.

You have a full service manual there (indeed if I could get something like that for half the electronics I sort life would be so much easier).

Do make sure it is nothing as simple as a power supply- scanning through it Sony seem to know (although worded so as to avoid lawyers) that the PSU might be the main point of failure (indeed most electronics it is that or a mechanical switch shortly followed by capacitors that fail).
