Steam Download Fail?

Is anyone else experiencing miserably agonizing (slow) downloads from the steam game client?

I did, I live in the UAE and set it to middle east but it made no difference.

I finished dl'ing Half Life 2 in less than an hour. Uhm, try tweaking your download settings in the Steam client.
