I think so, i haven't tested that, I guessing it might be because preloader moves the system menu app, but i'm unsure.
Thanks anyway.

Since Preloader swaps the binaries StartPatch tries to patch the Preloader stub. One way to make it work, at least in theory, would be to remove preloader (by reinstalling system menu for example), apply startpatch, and then install preloader.

I get a black screen and my wiimotes shut down.
I'm on 4.2E. I need some IOS trucha patched (I have IOS 70 patched with DOP IOS)?

EDIT: I suspect an SD related issue, because now also Homebrew Browser give me a black screen...

Yeah. Sounds like a SD issue.

I've already ported my 4.1x hacks to 4.1 and 4.2K.
I'll update it with the newer hacks before releasing though.
The only thing I'm seeing on the Preloader page is THIS.

I didn't make that one. Was it crediar who made that hack?
So do you mind posting the 4.2K hacks, please?

Yes, it was an SD issue. Formatted and now everything works again!

latest 4.2.2 works flawlessly on my Euro console

but are there any plans to add Video Mode Patch to the GC Region Free patch? I remember it worked well on 3.2 with Starfall but maybe it's not possible due to the 4.x firmware?

I have to say that the "block online updates" patch is excellent. I tested it earlier and the Wii just will not online update, even if you try

I have always been skeptical about leaving Wiiconnect24 on...due to the extremely minuscule possibility that Nintendo will force an overnight update someday. It is very possible...even if it did not happen yet. Still, I like the news and weather features and like to get it up to date. With this patch, there is really no longer any worries with leaving WC24 on. Great job once again!

One question came up two pages back that went unanswered, and I am curious as well. What exactly is the benefit of patching disc to use 249? The patch obviously does not allow backups to be played via the disc channel, and I do not recall this particular patch in any previous StartPatch (as far as I can remember). So, where is it useful?

^^^^ Didn't really put much thought into rather a hack was useful or not, but now that you mentioned it i can't really see a use for it. But i really don't have any plans to remove it, maybe if theres another update then it could be removed.

Edit: With all the drama going on in the cioscorp installer thread above this one, Was StartPatch even open source was we allowed to even make updates? to it I dont think anyone ever got ahold of the original Creator of Startpatch

Ehh, I enabled it. Maybe it'll be useful some day down the road

It doesn't seem to harm anything...which is good

The source for v4.1xx. was never released, but the source for v4.0xx was. This is the source we used, to port v4.2xx.
No; the original creator of StartPatch was unresponsive.

Start Patch was copypasted from Menu Patcher which is released under the GPL.

Do you have removed the "region free wii games" patch??
