Is it possible to block wiiconnect 24 standby mode (orange light) somehow like preloader does?

I have a feeling preloader uses its position as system menu to execute it properly (compared to just an offset patch) but maybe we can still work it out.

Thats the only feature i want from preloader that startpatch doesn't have.

that, autobooting a .dol file, and choosing what IOS to load the system menu with.
couldnt someone just make an app that does those 3 but doesnt move the system menu?

some of the hacks don't work on my 4.2E not sure on which ones but one just gives me 4.2E in the corner of the screen
What? Are you talking about Preloader or StartPatch?

preloader

I need a version with the menu BGM intact, I don´t know why people hate it... D=

Another thing, if I install this, can I overwrite it later with the real Sytem Menu IOS?

EDIT: The 249 force thing is a litle unnecessary, since retail disc don´t use it, and don´t see the point in make backups if you are mid careful with your discs. =/

That's because you probably have Autoboot Game (AKA: Force Standard Recovery Mode) enabled.

Guys, I just noticed something interesting. Seems that aquilino (the original author of StartPatch) just blatantly copied http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Menu_Patcher, added a few patches, and released it as his own work. Check the source and it bears some *cough* resemblance to StartPatch.
Hmm... Interesting! Looking at the Menu Patcher page, though, it hasn't been updated for some time.

the BGM is still up to you to enable or disable the settings in the hack...

i try to use this but freeze in "getting file size, preparing to copy...done!"
Why is happen?
Most people don't have any problems, but this happens to me A LOT!
I don't know what is causing it, but it is REALLY annoying!
At first, I though it was caused by random accessories attached, but that wasn't it.
Then, I thought that it was because I was sending StartPatch through Wiiload, but that wasn't it.
I've found what works the best is to turn your Wii off completely (red light), for about 30 seconds, and try again.
I'm wondering, if it has something to do with the initialization of the Wiimote?
I'll contact BlackAce83 about it, again.

The region free patches I have found don't work at least for Wii games. I get the B&W issue.
I think i'll need to also port this hack from 4.1 to fix the B&W issue, but i'll have no way to test it

[Force Disc Region to Wii Region]
version=449
offset=0x8137D758,0x8137D77C,0x8137D6B4,0x8137D6B8
value=0x4800001C,0x60000000,0x3C608000,0x936300CC

The 4.2 firmware contains additional region protection. Porting the hacks from 4.0/4.1 will not give you a working force disc region hack. The same goes for region free wii games. This update is what also knocks out the wiikey.
