Star Fox Zero - officially announced

In today's Nintendo E3 Direct, Star Fox Zero was officially announced. Check out the vid below to see some gameplay.

I will be getting it just for the sake of it having what looks like star fox 64 combat. Its to bad they don't let you choose who you want to play as that would be cool. And make it co-op? That would be amazing. They could do so many things in this series to make it even bigger but im sure they wont.

Wow, this game's graphic is really not that great to me from what I can tell. Yeah, Nintendo is lazy.

I believe i know why the graphics are as they are the game pad. the wii u has to display 2 different renderings of the game. one for tv and 1 for the gamepad. To keep the 720 60fps (if its 60), the graphics have to be lower quality. ever play hyrule warriors in two player mode? The graphics take a noticeable hit and the number or enemies on the screen is far less. The draw distance is also shorter.

Its not because Nintendo is lazy its because it takes power to output 2 different renderings simultaneously

This game looks good. Probably should have been shown at the end of the show for bigger impact instead of Mario compilation but hey who needs a exiting Digital event amirite?
Really wished nintendo would announce more Wii u stuff instead of just 3 while only 1 is a console seller for a few people.

Hey, the Temp is working again! For now....but yeah, this game is getting a lot of hate because the graphics aren't 1080p, 60 fps or rife with anti-aliasing, but to me, it looks awesome :D

The graphics looked Wii/NGC which is disappointing because this is going to be a Wii U -- HD game after all, but Nintendo's being lazy with games and spending it on amiibos so it's not much of a surprise. Wii U apologists will always say it's "okay because graphics don't matter". If graphics didn't matter then you wouldn't be playing a video game.

I don't think I'll even consider paying £35+ for this but around £25-29? Sure why not.

Well, Wii U is powerful and they can make graphic amazing if they want to. I never liked this game anyway but by looking at the screen. Nah. It look like Nintendo Game Cube. Sorry about my English.

According to the official website it supports 2 players so co-op might finally be in the mix. That also suggests we might not be forced to the crappy gamepad controls.
All it needs now is online multiplayer. So far I don't like any of the dogfighting games out there that support online play and I don't have anyone who can play Star Fox 64/Assault with me locally.

Also, I hope there will be an option to use a Wii Remote as a flightstick

Holy hell. Shut up about the graphics. My god. After so many people pissing and moaning about the lack of a Star fox game.. It arrives and met with unwarranted criticism about graphics.. On a system that was outdated when it was announced? Are you all REALLY surprised it's not full HD and 60 fps?

.. And people don't play games for the graphics. Um. Really? Ignorant statement to make. If I cared about the graphics, I'd never buy a console and put all of my money to ensuring my pc is up to date.

What really bothered me was the laser beams, they really could do with touching up, so far SF64 3D looks slightly better IMO, and that's a 3DS game.

the graphics are what they are because this game was in beta in the wii era.
and was originally going to get released on wii.

Peculiar because I was playing this at E3 and the game looked really nice graphically for the wii u standard...

The lasers look like something out of DBZ Budokai 2. Star Fox Assault, SF64 3D, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 etc had better looking lasers

all I've ever read was that there was a prototype built on the Wii. That's not even alpha, and does not mean the real game was designed around the Wii.

That is, unless you have a source stating otherwise.

Well, sorry it doesn't live up to your expectations. Just because they CAN make the graphics amazing doesn't mean they have to. Hell, look at a lot of indie games out now, like Minecraft, Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures, Terraria, FTL, The Escapists, those games could look a hell of a lot better without making people need super-high end graphics cards, but they don't, because they have a personal art style they like to use, because they find it fitting. I mean, look at the Call of Duty franchise as a whole, the games have great graphics, but their gameplay is unvaried and bland. Then, look at Metroid Prime 2: The graphics are somewhat dated about now, but the gameplay is fresh, varied, and challenging. Graphics alone don't make a good game.
