But i formatted..
If you can boot your sysNAND using a wupserver image, you can see what I'd expect to be your valid ticket. (It'll have your console ID)

You said that you're using the same NNID on both NANDs, and if you're logged on with your NNID, it should just see that you didn't have a valid ticket on your sysNAND, and ask for one from the server.

What would be nice to do is to recreate this scenario (fresh format, install with fake ticket both with and without an NNID) and check the ticket that's there both before and after you execute the game. If it simply either replaces the invalid ticket, or refuses to enable the DLC, then we don't have to be concerned about fake DLC hurting the system.

Either way, what you saw is how I'd expect a ticket-based authorization system to work.

Did you format sysnand to unlink from rednand before installing dlc?

No, I did not format SysNAND....I have read that if you do that, it will wipe your USB games...and since all my USB games are backed up on a Windows laptop that is no longer working because the power cable stopped working a couple days ago....I would have to re-download them...I don't have the space on this laptop to do that...

I can retrive the ticket with wupserver from sysnand and rednand but i will not format my sysnand again... because of usb drive loss.

Did you find a way to fake the Nintendo Root CA ?

I know there is no way to proxying nintendo services because the Wii have a client SSL (or we need to extract this key) but if we can spoof the eSphop WUP Installer will become useless
If we could, either we broke into Nintendo or TLS is inherently broken and all of the internet is at risk.
So, no. It's kinda made so that we can't.

Ok so I keep working on WUP Installer, a this time I just make it more user friendly but if I find a way to put a hook that will pause the process at each file I can make an external loading from a local server with libcurl and using the SD card as cache (and even check file MD5), i'll no take the risk of mounting external FS because I don't think that the Wii Kernel has iSCSI, FTP or SSH ability

Iv decided to unlink my nands by formatting my sysnand. Iv also formatted th USB drive I had used with all games on PC ready to be used with rednand, But it wont pick it up at all, Only sysnand will pick it up to format... Is this normal?

That is not normal. Try formatting the drive while in redNAND.

rednand doesnt even see it. Wont pick it up at all. Only sysnand can detect it.Tried formatting on PC lots of times now, Restarting the Wiiu but only sysnand will pick it up to ask to format, Not rednand.

BTW Im using dimoks dumper/launcher of rednand if it matters.

Hmm...Weird.
Try another drive or USB. Let's see if we can find what the issue might be.

Have you tried just going into redNAND system settings and initiating a format manually? It's an option within data management

Iv tried a 60gb usb pen drive, 256gb SDD w/ Y cable, 500gb external HDD & only sysnand will detect these.. Very strange.

Yeh, Iv been in & out of there to see if they were detected so that I could manually format them. Iv even tried to format the external with sys config tool with the option it has to format external HDD's, No go, Cant detect it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Im going to trying injecting the backup I made after dumping with dimok's dumper & Ill report here Just in case anyone else runs into this. If this doesnt work, Ill start from scratch & try once more. If that fail'S, Ill start from scratch & leave them linked...

When I use the backup tool on my 128gb SD I get "failed to read nand dump signature sector". Any tips on how to fix this? My redNand works, just the backup tool doesn't.

Maybe you are issuing data corruption on writing, i did no read the source code of this tool but if think it's the meaning of this message.

Managed to "fix" it. Injecting slc, mlc, slccmpt backups I had back to SD didnt work, Kept throwing error's. So I reformatted my WiiU & SD card, Set it up so that it had a dummy account & internet access & nothing else, Dumped fresh nand+rednand setup, Reformatted/unlinked the WiiU/sysNAND, When launching redNAND it detected the HDD straight away :)

I have a 256GB card, so total size is a non-issue.
To make sure of the obvious: Are you running as admin (you should be)?

Maybe you can try to create a big random file on your hard drive, copy it on you SD then check the checksum, if not format your SD with bigger block size and if still not good replace your SD.

If a big random file is not getting corrupted the SD card is not the issue, but magnetic fields may also corrupt data on SD card.

Does anyone else get their Data Management screen stuck on "Preparing..." when they go to access their "Internal Memory" on Rednand? I wanted to move some saves from my rednand to my usb drive, but can't seem to get into that part of data management.

And since it might be asked, yes, my nands are unlinked.

Also I tried the downloading a demo (as mentioned here), but that didn't seem to do the trick.

Edit: Used wupinstaller to install Mario Maker to rednand and now it's all good.
