Hardware Data Management Constantly Stuck on "Preparing..."

Now, I know I might be the only one who has this problem, but when I go to System Settings and to go on the Data Management to transfer data to my external hard drive, it's always stuck on "Preparing..." with a blue loading circle bar. Does anyone know what causes this problem? Or, does anyone know how to get rid of this problem? Please help...

Same problem here, only option (after searching the net for a couple of hours) seems to be to send it to Nintendo for investigation/repair.

Well, I did that under warranty and they said they couldn't fix it, unfortunately.

Same problem, just received WiiU back from Nintendo after second(?!?!) repair, it still has same problem... you would expect them to test it before sending it back!
Sending it back for third time now...
