Homebrew Spotify 3DS App - Where can I start?

I believe you can use rosalina to run 'spotify' (a modded 3ds sound?) I am going to find a way to do this, I will update you on my progress

If you do, cool but I don't think it's really feasible given how Spotify uses DRM and doesn't just expose its audio files. The best you could probably do is get the preview MP3s, but that's it.
 
Would it be possible to play downloaded spotify songs instead of using online spotify on the 3ds? Or are the files unable to be played in anything other than spotify.

If it's possible to play those in something other than Spotify, then there's probably an open-source app for doing that on some other platform – and an open-source app could conceivably be ported. If there is no such app, then I doubt it is due to lack of demand.
