I heard Maxis is making Spore into a DS game....but is this rumour or it is officially anounce by Maxis?

I really can't see this being any good, it will be a severely watered down version of the PC one, and I'm not talking about the graphics only, what really shines about spore is all the procedural stuff, the way the game is pretty much entirely dynamic, the DS would never be able to do that.

Considering that the price will be pretty much the same as the PC one I see no reason to get this instead (that is, for people that actually buy games), I'll probably buy spore for the pc tough, I think that all that background internet sharing aspect of the game will require a original copy heh.

well i would get the pC version if my PC is gamming capable....but no, i dont update my pc for gamming..i have console and DS for that....so when a DS version is confirm, i'm very happy.....

Yeah well, not really news. This was known even before that infamous Chris Hecker rant:
"The way you manufacture a Wii is you take two GameCubes and duct tape."

How much you wanna bet it won't even have any of the core elements that make up the PC version?

I agree with you in that it will certainly have to be watered down, but I think they can still manage to keep the basic structure intact. Create organisms from spores, evolve them, and then go start fights with people online. They won't be able to make it into the most insane MMORPG-type experience that Spore PC promises to be, but I think it still has potential to be fun. It all depends on the effort they put into it. With EA as the publisher, that could go either way. Wright might be a creative genius, but without the resources to see the project through to something decent...well, it could end up as shovelware, which EA seems to have no problem peddling.

He also said that there won't be a Wii version as the Wii is underpowered...yet its been confirmed for Wii as well as DS & PSP.
