Hacking Spirit Tracks saving issue

I've beaten Maladus several times now but the game doesn't give an option to save the game afterwards. It just goes to the title screen after the end credits and it doesn't save by itself either. I tried before on with 1.56 beta 4 with both a clean and patched ROM and I've also tried with beta 5 on a clean and patched ROM on stealh mode and without for both ROMs with no difference. I'm not sure what to try anymore.

Maybe that's just what the game does; many games don't have postgame save points.

Can anyone confirm that the game doesn't actually save after beating Maladus?

That's just how most games are, finish it and you either have to start a new save or just keep killing the final boss or whatever.
