Gaming Spirit Tracks name change program?

Yes, I know, it's only been out a few days, but given the recent rash of deleted saves (happened to me too), I wanted to try changing the name on my new save back to Link. I tried using a hex editor, the save registered as corrupt by the game and was reverted to the previous version.

I would like to know how to do this too.

And may also how to region change a save file.
