Switch 2 can use a regular SD card, but it is limited to screenshots and video captures. No games can be stored/accessed on it while in use on Switch 2, which includes Switch 1 games. And because the Switch 2 is a completely different system, you can't just download your Switch 1 titles onto the card from a Switch 1, and then insert it into the Switch 2 to access them. They are encrypted by the system's unique signature. Tied to your Nintendo Account, but encrypted by your console.

I was talking about taking a microSD Express card (the new kind) and formatting it FAT32 with a PC SD card reader/writer and seeing how the Switch 2 reacts to it. Because the new cards are compatible with old reader/writers, it should format no problem. To see if it's less limited than just inserting an old type of microSD.

No what it is is the Switch 2 lacks the actual SD drivers in the OS and they arent downloaded unless the user inserts an SD card. This is because they have to pay for usage of the driver so why pay for it on every unit when you can minimize it to just units who are using SD cards.

just found out this isnt an issue when it comes to exploits, the driver is for exfat support (just licensing) and it supports fat32 out the box (which is the format u would probably be using for mods and stuff)

Yes that is it my bad. Typed my reply a bit tired. There are 2 builds of HOS. One with and without the ExFAT support.

When are developers gonna stop being lazy pull their finger out and hack this console. With the way games are at the minute we NEED a hacked Switch 2 with piracy and homebrew support NOW

Developers hate being called lazy, so I'm sure you gave them the proper motivation to hack the Switch 2 now. Expect an announcement in the next few weeks. Thank you for your intervention in that matter.

Grow up (or act your age) and buy the games you want if you're acting like that.

If thats your attitude you don't NEED anything all you WANT is to to play games for free. Which in that case you prob better off just stealing physical releases from retailers. Same thing in the end really.

Piracy, you wouldn’t steal a car… lmao

Maybe a better way to say it would be..

You’d steal a car from a corporation but not from someone who owned it lol
But alas in modern times majority of people don't actually own their cars as it isn't paid off.
Its technically still owned by the dealer or bank until its finished being paid off.

So really you can say your stealing a car from the big bad bank and dealer and no harm has been done.

Seeing as this is actually more interesting than any piracy debate...

I'm fully on board with the notion that while stealing from people is morally wrong, stealing from corporations is morally hilarious.

However, despite the above argument about car ownership, stealing someone's car would still cause them unnecessary stress and difficulty.

So, steal from the dealership, or get a few at once by hijacking one of those car carriers. Make sure not to hurt or unduly upset the driver tho, ideally leave them somewhere comfy with phone and hot beverage of their choice.
