I am personally in love with this patch. I have played more than 200 hours of the game already and well, let me tell you one thing: American community in this game is not nice. You get 10-20% of nice players who play the match with honor and you get 80% of teabaggers, trolls, all the disgusting character creations (D. Trump, fellas with huge penises, some other troll CC), violent freaks and absolute man- and woman-babies - that's the main audience of the game. One of the players actually messaged me after match and sent me their BDSM drawings with Ivy... Cool, huh?
It's pretty bad and what makes me sad is that this is accepted as a normal way of things, this isn't some children that have nothing to do, this is 20-40 year old men and women with so much hate that they decide it's okay to spit it out onto other players just because they can't actually see them.
I remember reading an article where they informed that some Street Fighter tournament in USA would disqualify any player who behaves aggressively and disrespects their opponent, you can imagine how the community responded to that.
Now, again, I've played quite a bit of Street Fighter V and SoulCalibur VI, a bit of other fighting games, too, and from my experience the percent of nice players overseas and especially in Japan is reversed: it's not 10-20% of nice players, it's 80-90% of them and having the option to change your region is something very important for people like me who want to play this game without all the annoying players. At least, until the fighting community becomes more human.
Now I don't have to close the game each time I see some troll because like I said, having played so much of the game, only 10-20% of foreign players behave this way.
Apart from that, the patch is really great with all the small touches they added and the network is more stable than ever. I have no idea why people complained. I get matches very quickly all the time, it's better than Street Fighter V, for example. Not even going to mention the speed at which you get matches in Blazblue, Under Night and other 2D games.
