Rumor Sony reportedly working on Xbox Game Pass rival

Xbox Game Pass has over 18 million users and is growing as it seems to be succeeding. Although it seems Sony is creating a new service to fight Xbox Game Pass. Game Of War developer, David Joffe reveals PlayStation may be making a "counterpunch" to Xbox Game Pass. He does not reveal much about it. It's unknown how it'll work or if it's just going to be an updated version of PS Now. Fans have stated they wanted a new service with PS+ and PS Now

...except they already have that, it's called PS Now.

PS Now isn't just "streaming only", pretty much all of their PS4 titles can be downloaded and installed locally on any PS4/5, exactly the same as Xbox Game Pass. It's certainly not as attractive an option as Game pass to most, but it already exists as a competitor. I suspect it's less they're working on something "new" and more just them restructuring how they add games to PS Now/probably just adding PS5 games or something.

...I'm well aware, I'm not refuting whatever you wrote, I'm saying David "Joffe"'s (it's spelled Jaffe and it's "God of War", not "Game of War" ) statement that they're "creating a rival service" is probably wrong/not quite as in depth as he claims.

Yeah found that one seems this news is about a week or so old. At most they will retool PSNow probably eventually updating it with better content. They really need to take a long and hard look at their pc app. It is buggy as all hell. If you minimise it for a few minutes you end up having kill the process and start it again which can get annoying if you just drop out to check some emails

Sounds like they need to fix their advertising than because I always thought all games on ps now where streamed

Errr, they kinda do mention that lol. Pretty much any news about PS Now includes some phrasing of "Stream or Download now!" And such. Perhaps you just never noticed it or paid attention to it

The or download makes it sound like not all games are available to download and some are only available via streaming
