ROM Hack Sonic Mania Plus on Switch 4.1 SX OS Pro

Have US version of Switch, firmware 4.1, SX OS Pro 2.5(beta). Can't get Sonic Mania Plus (Euro) to run. Ideas? Wondering if it needs later OS version.

No no no! Search up on using tinfoil to install using skip version check! That way you don't have to update at all.

That only works if it is an artificial limitation on firmware requirement. If the game uses a masterkey for game files that only later firmwares have, then that won't work. I don't know if Sonic Mania Plus is one of those games.

True that, some game updates wont work neither and you'd have to reinstall the game. Updates require latest FW otherwise the game will just freeze the switch
