Hi there,

I wrote a port of Sonic CD for Switch.

NRO, install instructions are given here: https://github.com/usineur/rvm_soniccd/releases/latest

Have fun,
usineur
This is absolutely fantastic!
I had no idea the Mobile versions were being RE'd, much less at the extend of being fully playable!
What is currently missing from this port?

Also, may I ask for one suggestion/feature?
Would it be possible to change the jump sound from Sonic CD to that of Sonic 2 or 3?
I have always despise the awful jump sound they used for CD specifically.
With the original jump sound from the Genesis games, I'd enjoy this game much better :P

Thanks for this port!

I think you can DIY with this tool. I guess you can replace the Data/SoundFx/Global/Jump.wav file with the sound you desire (Untested).

Hi there!

Found out that Special Bonus stage has an unnecessary touch controls symbols of dpad and an action button, maybe it'll be wise to remove them?

This is an example:

And one more thing: it's just me or the jump sound is SO LOUD ?.. Maybe we can lower it a lil bit (like 50% or so)?
IMHO the jump sound is so dumb, I really prefer Sonic 1 or 2 jump SFX btw...

Is this the one based on the Taxman version with different physics, the ability to switch between JP and US tracks, 16:9, and all that New Jack Swing!?

So, this is a little silly... in order to get past the title it ask you to touch to start and I have broken touch input on my Switch so I cannot even start the game. So would be possible to have touch-less controls? You need em in order to play docked anyways.

It seems to be the same problem as https://gbatemp.net/threads/sonic-cd.579727/#post-9311154
Check that you have the correct Data.rsdk file.
  • MD5(Data.rsdk)= 37682fbd5d3bb05ce58999be47749e9d

It can be done this way:
  • You have to unpack the rsdk with this tool or this one.
  • Replace the Data/Sprites/Special/Objects.gif with this file (same name).
  • Repack
