Spoiler, I solved it! @Cranesbill

Cranesbill's blog for context

Cranesbill found this guy who made his own Thomas model, and wanted to replicate it

Sadly, despite the video being titled a "tutorial" it is anything but, it's sort of a hodgepodge of progress about how TankEngine JonJon made his own brass Thomas without much hard info included. However, on a watch I was able to sleuth out where to find his laser cut files

Enter: the thomas modeling god known as jamostrainos https://x.com/jamostrainos

And guess what, jamostrainos has a whole googledrive folder with premade files that can be sent off for custom brass cutting

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1SAmk-GkxgWkj7mipNmT5OC1ysxUTo8F5

Just mozy on over to the thomas files here, and it includes the pieces for brass cutting AND for 3d printing (the pieces that can't be made by machine brass cutting alone)

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12Nhd0nk5uRpemwVFuZ8N-o_ewAYs3Hq_

And tada open FreeCAD (or your other favorite CAD software) and open those DXF files and see them in their perfectly cut glory

Disclaimer: these are more updated than the ones from last year's TankEngine JonJon video, so while they aren't exactly the same, they are actually a better model overall with kinks fixed

Attached are some files I used to verify all the pieces are there (and helpful file names under pieces to make it clear what goes where) - if you look closely a couple of these pieces will need to be printed twice

No more blueprints needed :3

Made an object file that shows how the bronze pieces go together based on the photos posted by jamostrainos (can be imported into blender)

Sad reality is that projects like these will take on average 1 to 2 years :(

But I'll post updated on my blog
No kidding, watching the video by TankEngine JonJon it's a wild amount of technical skills to learn - like, I've never used a blow torch personally and would be spooked to try
