Hey guys, today i had this error happen to me whenever i ran FBI or homebrew apps or anything of the like:

An exception occured

Processor : ARM11 (core 0)
Exception type : data abort
fault status : Translation - section

It showed up within seconds of opening any process, and i searched a lot for a fix almost everywhere on gbatemp and other websites, even formatted my sd card and checked it and everything.
But the only thing that worked for me was to remove any plugins i had installed from my sd card once i restored all the data on it, and also removed the file "boot.firm.bak" as i hadn't noticed it before.I also re-downloaded the Luma3ds 8.1.1 zip and copied the boot.firm to the root of my sd card to replace the old file. This made everything right as far as i could tell and the error didn't show up again. So i'm just posting this for anyone who has the same problem and is searching for a solution, even though it's really stupid of me not to have realized it from the beginning cuz it's so simple :D.

Note : i'm on Luma3ds ver 8.1.1 (had some major issues with 9.0) on an o3ds
Mine says current processs: menu (0004003000008f02) under the fault status and I have no idea how to fix it. On the SD card there isn't a "boot.firm.bak"
This happened after I tried to mess with the theme I downloaded with anemone.

I'm getting a similar when I was trying to make a video cia using vcc13, the error was:

Processor: arm11(core 0)

Exception type: data abort

Falta status: translation - section

Current process: vídeo ch

Anyone knows how to make that the video doesn't crash?

Back up your sd card' data, empty it then check it with h2testw to make sure it's not faulty or dying.

I solved it by turning it off. Holding select and turning it back on and uncheck the part where it overrides the region.

Hello! I also had the same issue and then right before shutting down i came across his text: “You can find the dump in the following file: SD:/luma/dumps/arm11/crash_dump_00000005.dmp”

hopefully this helps.

Hello! I am also having this error when trying to run cheats, scanning QR codes on Universal updater, or running ThirdTube

Hello! I am also having this error when trying to run cheats,
You can access Rosalina Menu in-game, right? It shows the error just when you try to activate cheats?
It's worth checking that you have "Game Patching" enabled in Luma3ds Menu. Also goes without saying the cheat files in whatever directory they should be in inside your sd card.
scanning QR codes on Universal updater,
Don't remember UU having that function.. Have you tried reinstalling it?
or running ThirdTube
After launching it, or after? Also worth reinstalling (uninstall then re-DL/install from scratch).
Also, does the error appear anywhere or just in these 3 situations/instances?

If that didn't work, you might want to check your sd card with h2testw for corruption. Backup your data before doing so. Empty the sd card and run the test. If it fails then it's faulty and you should get a new replacement.

I do have game patching enabled, UU uses QR codes as one of the methods to add unistores

I had this error randomly too, i fix in this way.
Turn ur 3ds pressing select and mark disable arm11 exception handlers.
Press start to save and see if u have some problem
I do not see anything to disable arm11 exception handlers. Where can I found it? Sorry for the bad english

Hey fellas,
Here is a Workaround that helped me fixing my issue.
Start your 3ds while holding select and the power button.
In the menu that opened, select "enable game patching" and "show nand..."
press start for save!!! your are redirected to the main menu.
Click on download download play. afterwards press "L", "D-Pad down" and "select".
in the miscellaneous options click on the "switch the hb title to the current ap"
go back to your main menu with pressing "b" some times.
restart the download game app and you will hopefully see the homebrew launcher
Late, but just wanted to say that I was also having the same problem with AC New Leaf crashing (when I tried to start the game), and this workaround worked FLAWLESSLY. So grateful. I can't explain exactly how it worked, but it worked. Much appreciated!
Quick fix, too. If you're having issues, try this first! :yay:

ok, lets try finding the home menu folder, or the 0000008f folder. Please answer the two questions questions

is there more than one 32 character folder in the Nintendo 3DS folder?
is "view hidden files" enabled in file explorer?
i have 2 32 character files

i have 2 32 character files
Move one elsewhere on the sdcard leaving only one there and see if you see your stuff on the home menu etc if not try with the other, and there you go
and if for some reason one of them is just empty, you can go ahead and delete it since you won't need it. Usually you'd only have 32id folder unless you have something like 3dsbank set up for VC installs etc.

well, errors like this only occur to me when i enable certain cheats that interfere with each other. Another possibility is the save is corrupted.

(optional) 1.To see if this is the problem, go to checkpoint, create a save, then wipe the game data. (don't worry, you will have that backup in checkpoint. make 2 backups if you think you'll do something wrong. cuz i do lol) If the game runs with the save wiped, then your other save probably is corrupted.

2. do you have any plugins that luma uses?
I do, how can I "incorrupt" my save? Also, it works on pc but not on console
