PS1/2 softmodding ps2

i need your help on how to softmod a ps2 console to allow me to play burned game disc w/o swapping a disc or play from a USB HDD
ps2 console detail
virgin PAL - came from UK , probably a version 7 or 8 fat ps2

A burned game can be played with the ESR app. In order to run ESR, you should FreeMCBoot your PS2 first. As long as it's a PS2 fat, I'd recommend getting an IDE hdd and PS2 network adapter also.

Install Free McBoot on your memory card and run ESR from there. And the discs need to be patched before burning in order to be played from ESR. The difficult part is how to install Free McBoot, but there are tons of guides on how to do it.

But i agree, getting a network adapter and an IDE HDD is highly recommended. And then just launch Open PS2 Loader from Free McBoot. Either way, there's either swapping discs, buying stuff or Free McBoot.
