Is there no hope?

Is it safe to assume this is a slimline silver PS2?

If so, you'll want Swap Magic, I think 3.8, with sensor blocks to play back ups.

Buy either swap magic or a cheat disc like codebreaker. I'd suggest swap magic in the event that you can't softmod it, you can still use backups.

OK, there is an EASY way to check.

look at the bottom of your console.

There should be a number.

if it says:
1a,1b,1c,1d,2a,2b,2c,2d,3a,3b,3c,3d,4a,4b,4c,4d,5a,5b,5c,5d,6a,6b,6c,6d,7a,7b,7c
,7d,8a, or 8b it is definetely softmodabble.

if it says 8c it is MAYBE softmodabble, try.

If it says 8d,9a,9b,9c,9d,0a,0b,0c,0d it is unsoftmoddbable. mine is 0A so I just use swap magic.

I have a much older slim that uses the Swap Magic, wanted to see if the new one could be modded for giggles. I'm guess I'm out of luck, thanks for all of the help though.

You can still mod the old one if you want.
