I have just softmoded my Wii useing softmod for dummies 4.0
I am new to this but I have things running fine and have not had a game not work yet. But I noticed on a few games (soul caliber, Samba De Amiga, Castlevaina and a few others) they I get a stuttering of video and sound durring the full motion scenes. all my disk I used Wiibrickblocker on. Is this normal for a softmod? Or can I do something about it.

Also I noticed when I play a burn I hear the disk being access quite a bit, but when I play a normal game I do not. Is this a problem or will it wear out my Wii?

Thanks

If your drive is louder when running backups than it is when running retail discs, you may have bad burns. My Wii is load as hell when running retail discs compared to backups.

But to answer your question: Yes stuttering is normal when playing from backup discs, while playing from usb actually dereases loading times.

completely normal dependant on how you're loading games.

EG when i use cIOSCORP its like loading an original disc with no slow loading, just normal disc times and videos.

Gamma loader loads things a bit slower than normal disc loading

whilst USB Loading increases load time i find by alot

I remember before that softmods ran at only 3x speed compared to retail/mod chip 6x speeds.

Nero Disc Speed (something like that, a Nero product) has the ability to check bad burns (PI/PO scan, something like that).

It shouldn't stutter if you are using a modchip. I know that's probably not what you're talking about, I just figured I'd toss that out there so someone finding this thread wouldn't get confused.

lol yeah, clearly the title begining with 'softmod' wasnt making it clear enough lol.

and yes, with a modchip all loading can be set to 6x read speed or 3x (dependant on chip of course).

plus the purpose of a modchip is playing backups... so why would they make one that didnt work at full speed?
