My buddy tried modding my 2DSXL. He used a tutorial from Youtube of a most recent mod. Once he got the the Black screen where you initiate the boot sequence I believe. The 2DSXL turned off and wont reboot. I can remember checking the files in the folder, and one wasnt even unzipped before he went through the process. So I believe its bricked for good.

There is the power button the flashes on, then off. A blue light. Thats all I can do. Would replacing the entire folder change anything. Been told i need a boot.firm file. However I cant find one anywhere, even online. One download asked me to manually create one, thats kinda outta the question. My only PC is a public librarys.

If anyone can give me some hope of some sort as to fixing my 2DS. That'd be great. I mean even DM me some instructables. I work full time, and havent much an opportunity to surf the web for countless hours as I have before.

THANKS

Yeah, the boot.firm is definitely missing. As long as B9S installed successfully, just put this on the root of the SD - https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases/download/v9.1/Luma3DSv9.1.7z

Damn things broke for good. None of the files needed were on the SD card. The boot.firm is now there along with everything else and the 2DS still wont turn on.

I hate to say it, but video tutorials should never be followed. Even still, I doubt it's completely broken, unless you didn't follow a step properly or the tutorial had you do something stupid, like transferring of otp. The guide everyone should use is https://3ds.hacks.guide/, and there is a troubleshooting guide there that should help you out.
