i was seriously considering ds-x then having thought of it to be teh ubercart. but then there weren't any supplier around here, so i got an R4 instead. turned out to be a GREAT decision after all.

and man, did my eyes shone gazing at its box then. *daydreams* R4 FTW!

but i did get a flashcart for my gbasp when i was in china a few years ago. after joining gbatemp i found out its been updated to be called firelinker, upon its conversion to usb2.0. my old version has a name translated to "feel-card" lol, and its pretty shitty compared to the gba solutions available today. but, it allowed me to play any gba game i wanted, so i loved it to death

The wait for my first cart was a busy one. I did tons of research, to make sure I know what to do and how to troubleshoot my own problems. Opening the box gave me a sense of satisfaction (good price

) and uncertainty (I wonder if its defective? Is it a chinese version?

) But yeah, my first experience was a fulfilling one. I did at least a weeks worth of research prior from acquiring the cart, and every second was worthwhile.

I did the same exact thing. Originally I was going to get a DS-X, but the price turned me off so I just forgot about it. A while longer I heard of an R4. Did research, and eventually got one. I wouldn't trade it unless it was for more than 200 USD. >_>

My first flashcard experience was a Bung GB Xchanger for GB and GBC...4mB. XD (Actually, they had a package deal at the time I bought it -- a 4Mb and 16Mb with the old parallel port linker..a great deal!) Eventually I upgraded to a 64Mb and never thought I could possibly fill it all! It included a PSX adapter, to allow you to load roms from a CD, using your playstation.

This was circa 2000...which doesn't seem like so long ago, but man...leaps and bounds since then. It was terribly exciting, though there was a lot of issues if you had upgraded from 98 to the then-new Windows XP.

I downloaded one after another that I wanted to try, and I think I spent more time with the cart plugged to my computer than I played it

then the gaming-feeling dissapeared.. I had too much to choose from, so I just started one after another without finishing one...

I had the opposite experience; the limited space and time it took to write to the cart (1-2mins on USB 1.0) stopped me from switching games too often, so I really put some time into the ones that were on there. I'd test games on VBA first, then only put the ones on my cart that I liked to play them properly. I still have a fair number of half-finished savefiles, but they've all had a decent amount of playtime racked up in them and I will probably finish them all someday

I built mine, and built my flash device. It is called the C3. Before every noob on the planet got dumping equipment (and they didn't help dump any games either, mind you

) Of course, the Super Smart Card existed before it, but I was too cheap to buy one back in 1995.

Welll, got my CycloDS a couple of days ago, I love its little tin. Unfortunately, I am without an SD card at the moment, so it's a bit useless. I do, however, know that it works. I put it in tonight and I was happy as anything when I saw the little icon.

Well, my R4 comes, and I love it.

It works great, and I can finally play a bunch of awesome games I've wanted to try for so long! (New Kirbies, PW, Hotel Dusk, Ouendan)

I think I need another SD card, though, as mine's already full.

My first cart was a SuperCard SD. Then switched to a SuperCard miniSD after some months. Still using it

I'm going to get a SuperCard DS One... All games worked, even when other carts needed things like Arm7 fix, on my SuperCard they always worked. So I'm not going to leave Team SuperCard soon

The first flashcart I got was a G6 Lite in October of 2006. It was a week after I got my NDS lite, and I was amazed at the capabilities of my NDS now. Before, it was a thing I played only about an hour or two a week, because I never had the money to buy new games. Now I was playing the latest NDS games (some before they even came out), listening to music, watching movies, planning my day, playing classic games and so much more. In short, I was blown away.
