locate this area on your wii:

then follow the wires which will be attached to that area until you find something attached to the other side of the wires which will be your mod chip.

then take a picture of it if you don't know what mod chip it is

LOL.

It is a known fact that an original SMG (NTSC-U) disc will not work with a Wii-J. I was told that when I bought mine.

Why don't u just check the firmware version?
if it's ended with J then it's Japanese version, if ended with U then it's US version...

or another way... check the wii menu...
the Japanese version will be showed in Japanese in most contents includes setting menu...

In Thailand... there are only 2 version... NTSC-U and NTSC-J... not much of Pal version (I haven't seen one myself)

btw... I'm in Thailand...

Hope this would help you

What?

Syao4 is trying to find out what mod chip he/she has. Not what regional his/her wii is.

Sorry that I misunderstood...

It's likely to be D2Ckey if he recently brought it...
but if he brought it longer than 3 months ago then it should be wiikey...

(as these chips are common in Thailand...)
