Gaming Snes9x save state problem

I was playing Chrono Trigger on snes9x on my psp and I was using save states.
My problem is the save I've been using wont work. The music plays till the end (kind of winds down) then I can't do anything. It's stuck there.
I also had autosave on for every 5 minutes, where do those saves go?
Anyway to fix this, or am I going to have to start again?

sometimes savestates won't work correctly on chrono trigger(same thing happened to me) my advice is to upgrade your emulator to snes mecm (look for it over at qj.net)
