I've never seen a trimmer for SNES roms, plus Mario RPG won't work on SNemulDS (or an original SNES with copier).

even if... it seems as you think fitting it into the ram would help... it doesn't, it only makes it smaller. The real problem is the FX chip in that game that the DS currently can't emulate.

Ah..This topic came up in our chat at *Some Unknown DS Place*.

I decided to take a hex editor to some SNES roms, to see how much space I could trim off. On average - 500 bytes.

There is no way that shrinking the game will allow it to play on the emulator. As pasc said, the co-processor chips aren't emulated.

Size is not the problem here. SNEmulDS can play 4 MB games fine (Chrono Trigger, entire Donkey Kong Country series). It's the SA-1 coprocessor chip that comes with SMRPG, which is 3 times faster than the system's CPU itself. This chip is not emulated at all, and will probably never be emulated at a playable framerate.

Plus, like MasterPenguin pointed out, SNES roms cannot be trimmed, at least not effectively.
