Hi.

Could someone tell me what the latest/last SNES emulator released for the DS is? Is there some type of dat file used that could theoretically be tweaked, like the 'snesadvance.dat' for older emus?

And finally, has work on any SNES emulator(s) ceased, or is it pretty much the whole homebrew DS scene?

IIRC there is a snes emulator (or was it gba?) for the DS, but it's only possible with the processor of a certain flashcart (supercard?).

the regular snes (and gba) emulators for DS are just not fast enough

Good luck getting SNEmulDS to work. I've been trying for hours with no success.

Other than that, I've heard good things.

Okay. Thanks for all the responses.

I got it working on a cheapo DSTT card. A good ten dollar investment.

Too bad the Megaman X's aren't playable though...

Can I assume that we won't be seeing any updates for, or newly released, SNES emulators on the NDS? Especially with the release of the 3DS...

SNES DS and SnezziDS both used tweaks similar to SNES Advance with its .dat file. However, SNEmulDS managed to find a way to auto-detect the loops that could be skipped, and therefore was fast without the use of a manual tweak.

The guy unofficially maintaining the SNES emulator for the DS:TWO has tried to implement the speedhacks again, purely for troublesome games like Super Mario RPG, but with little success.

In terms of completeness and compatibility, you're looking at:
SNES DS < SnezziDS < SNEmulDS < the DS:TWO emulator

And like Rydian said, it's rather unlikely that SNEmulDS will be getting an update anytime soon, sadly.
