ModMii's default settings will build neek2o which is currently at v4.
If you go to ModMii's options page you can choose to disable neek2o (and it will build the old\traditional neek).

Both kinds of neek that ModMii builds will autoupdate using the modules hosted here:
http://code.google.com/p/sneeky-compiler/downloads/list
and here:
http://code.google.com/p/custom-di/downloads/list

you can see on the sneeky-compiler page that the latest version to be compiled and uploaded is 168. So to answer your question, neither ModMii or sneeky compiler can build rev 172 yet, but once scooby updates his sneeky-compiler google code page ModMii and sneeky-compiler will be able to build the latest version.

you should check out neek2o btw, I'm not sure what changes were made in the 172 update, but neek2o has had some crazy awesome breakthroughs worth checking out

awesome , thank you for the info. i didnt realize that , i am a good 3 days behind. i too would like to stay up to date with all versions of neek .
time to get the latest rev built up and update my setups.i wont wait , but i will play with sneekycompiler and modmii when they are updated too.

hey scooby, crediar works again on s/uneek :-)
he made some very interested things, just look at the googlecode page. is it possible to update your SneekyCompiler SSE so we can compile the new beta versions of s/uneek?

i hope overjoy and obcd can to integrate some of this interest things:

r173
DI:
-Added different debug output levels for most printfs
-DVDInit() added support for real NAND
-Added DVDRead and DVDCreateDir Ioctlvs (for ES)
-Changed EHCI error retries to infinite
-Removed IOSInfoTable stuff
-eFIX is now required to build the final di.bin, through this DI can use up much more space than before.

r174
ES:
-DVDOpen now copies the filename to separate buffer before usage
-added direct to Ex format ripping, during ripping NO status information is displayed.
-added DVDCreateDir and DVDRead for ripping games to the Ex format
-added Raw and Ex format ripping options to the config menu
-moved dump code to a separate file -SMenu now also looks on the USB device for a font.bin
-NANDWriteFileSafe now requires the name of the tmp file which must match the filename you're using (required for SNEEK to work on real NAND)

regards
