That one happens when you don't have c:/python26 in your PATH system variable. So put it there and that ought to fix it.
I have PYTHONPATH set to c:/python26. Do I set just PATH?

EDIT: I have path set to c:\devkitPro\msys\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files\TortoiseSVN\bin

there are only two paths to set

the first is the sneek source path
i check out the source to the root of my C drive so my path is
c:\sneek

the second is the python path
i installed python to the root of my C drive so my path is
c:\python26

edit: are you guys following the nice tut on the google code page?

I've been following the google code tutorial, yes.

It says nothing about environment variables though.

They probably just assume you have that kind of thing set up already. But either way, that ought to have fixed the issue. Can't say I know why it wouldn't have. Unless you don't have Python or something.

Is it giving you any other error, then?
no, build_boot2 now shows
Padding loader with 0x100 zeroes
Header: 0x10 bytes
Loader: 0x4d0 bytes
ELF: 0xa648 byes

When I run Sneek.cmd (from cmd.exe, not the actual file), it gets to the preset building, but after copying armboot.bin it says it can't find the other files (boot2/di).

If it's of any relevancy, it shows
makebin.py:3: DeprecationWarning: the sha module is deprecated: use the hashlib module instead

What happens if you use the build_boot2.cmd instead of sneek.cmd from that guide? If you have devkitpro installed properly you should be able to use that instead.

build_boot2 produces the messages I typed above. I'll try reinstalling devkitpro.

I'm assuming the files should be named 0000000e.app/00000001.app and placed in the same directory as the first one prompted for? (c:\sneek). After the window to place them in pops up it quickly jumps to File not found and finishes the batch.

they need the .app extensions and make sure that you checked "Decrypt" on NUSD before you downloaded them.

uh. I don't see the decrypt option in 1.3 beta (NUSD). It shows PackWad, SaveAs, Ignore Ticket, Delete Contents, and Local Files.
