good to see this sneek is up and running...

now.. um.. I don't reeeally see the point of running dev stuff... What is the point? Can't we already do all that groovy stuff with homebrew channel anyway?

I certainly see the nand emulation potential though. that would be amazing. I hope its available for the lu64+ people too.

soon we'll have our own highly modified homebrewed menu

I can't wait.. I want more info on this though.

1. it is just not possible
2. he said he is running on a retail Wii
According to Wiibrew, it is.
The only thing is you don't have the hardware included in a dev Wii

No, wiibrew says nothing like that, you are simply extrapolating.
The fact you can modify a config file to match the Dev ones does not mean your Wii magically turns out into a Dev Wii...
maybe the disc is looking for this config file though

Dev Wii's don't differ that much from normal Wii's (apart from hardware).
At the video you see boot ... (can't recall what it was) which you can accomplish by editing the sysconf.

My point is that changing a config file does not change your Wii, it only changes the way software (disc or channels) behaves... if you don't have the necessary software, changing those bits probably do nothing

Agreed, you need special software.
