Hacking smash stacks

Hi!
I just bought a new Wii U and today im going to install home brew using smash stacks exploit.
Should i update the firmware before installing?

Have nintendo patched the exploit?

update to latest wiiu firmware. Once 5.5.1 is exploited via browser or VC game, you can exploit the vWii too from the exploited WiiU side. IIRC FIX94 published some s/w to do just that

Smash Stack is for the vwii (not sure your aware of this or not) : theres is WUPHAX that will exploit your vwii from the WiiU.

or do you intend to exploit the wiiu and are confusing the two ?

Been looking at vids about hackmii, sdcard 2gb and "wii smash bro brawls" but im not sure if thats supported?

It will work for hacking the wiimode.
Avoid videos as the scene changes often and they rarely are updated with the newest facts!!!!

I'm assuming he has the game already, so it really doesn't matter which method he uses.

simplest method to homebrew enable vwii then wuphax is what you want

if you're talking about wii u mode then you can simply load a URL to boot into a homebrew menu. i'd recommend to search haxchi on these forums and read what you need to do further
