What do you except your asking people on gbatemp who pretty much are just pirates. Of coruse there not going to have any knowledge at all on how to program. But if i knew how to program homebrew for the DS, i would happy try to make Smash Bros. DS happen.

The super smash bros physics engine is extremely complex... So complex that it took a team of paid programmers many months to create it. Get rid of this complexity and you have yourselves jump ultimate stars... See what I'm getting at? Its. Not. Happening.

Actually if you look on the back of the smash box, they used the havok physics engine.. just thought i would throw that out there.

I never said who made the engine, I just said it took them many months

. The havok engine just deals with things like face movement, I was talking about the core game engine (how far someone flies, etc) and how long it must have taken to make it balanced.

And here's another vote for locking the topic, people should just settle for the homebrew projects like World of Warcraft DS

Kid, the SSB Engine that makes the game is to high for the DS power. Even if it will work, the DS will shut down because of hardware failure, because it isn't an average sized(MB) NDS Game. Even if you make a Homebrew game, you will need to make your own engine, making it very long. And lets say you somehow made the engine, and made everything pretty much sucky, all you probably can do is: make it into a 2-d fighting game, no "action crap". Please go get a life please kid.

Oh and i was refering to the topic starters post, i quoted JPH cuz im doing that expresion right now.

Well, I have no knowledge of programming but I am trying to learn. If I could do anything else though I'd be willing to help.

Though I have to say I'd feel waay more comfortable if we did a sort of "Parody" of SSM, rather than actually calling out characters and titles that we could be sued for...
I still wanna find a way to help though...

Face movement? I always thought havok was a physics engine and has pretty much nothing to do with face movement as that is just model morphing.

On topic: The idea is nice, I even remember myself mentioning it in one of these threads, but truth is it would take a lot of work and skills, just doing the 3D engine. I might help out with some models, textures and all that graphical stuff but when it comes to coding I'm quite limited - I've made some homebrew but it's nowhere near smash bros.

Yeah, Havok deals with physics, like ragdolls, cloth, water, etc. Not facial animation.

lock this and leave the poor guy alone, I don't blame him for leaving, you call HIM a spammer when you lot are the spammers, you spammed his idea

I *do* blame him for leaving. Someone can't just appear out of nowhere and tell us of this wonderful idea they have when they've got absolutely nothing to back up their ideas. Sure, someone can be ambitious, but really, this is just retarded.

Facepalm yourself for that rediculously foolish statement.

So far the one over at PALib is a few background and ripped sprites. He's got one character onscreen and it's gonna take a long time to get somewhere even remotely playable.
