Of course they haven't banned nearly everyone yet. As long as you don't go online with the standard template file you're fine, otherwise you'll have to be worried about a ban for several weeks to come.

Where would I get another template file from I'm not banned yet just seeing if anyone else isn't also I don't really play online on the 3ds so if I was to be banned it wouldn't be much of an issue

Cool I have an n3ds though I should be able to do this on my girlfriends 3ds though where would I get a private header from or does the program do it automatically for you

You have to dump a private header/ROM from a legitimate cartridge using Gateway's Launcher.dat (you don't need a Gateway). You can just use one private header for every ROM you intend to go online with and that would be a lot safer than using the standard template or public headers.

*edit* Ouch, I swear I read this thread already. Reading comprehension failing me... I'll try these suggestions here once GW releases N3ds support so I can get my own private headers.

I'm actually very interested in this. I'm not banned as of now, although I haven't been using my Sky3ds much lately. Especially since I've heard of potential bans.

I don't believe I'm banned yet as an original cart I have is able to go online without error.

Could someone please explain how to inject and use a single private header into multiple roms? Is this possible with Sky3ds? I know you'll need a gateway capable system to get the private header in the first place, but once you have it, will Sky3ds be able to use this private header on multiple roms?

I have a Gateway card as well (no compatible 3ds hardware yet... JAP N3ds) but I really don't wish to have to wait on emunand updates that may or may never come from developers who have a lamp post's understanding of what customer communication is all about.

Thanks for any info.

Yeah, as far as I know. You just need to make separate templates for each game (which you should be doing already) with your private header, they can all use the same header or not, and replace the existing entries in template.txt with the ones you made. (I believe you can tell which game is the one you just made a template for by the SHA1)

You need the Sky3ds template maker, if you don't have that already.

I also have this thing I found called the OnlineID Generator. It spits out unique ID's that I think can be used to make a private header. I have no idea if it works or not. I might make a thread on it when I get my Sky3ds, cause there's no information on the forum about it.

You shouldn't have replied, if the question has to be asked a 10th time that means they want 100% confirmation

You know what you can do gamefly has 3ds game rentals and if you have gateway just dump the game and return it. That would be the best chance you can have for paying online with a backup and not get banned. But that would be illegal so don't do it

Been trying, semi unsuccessfully, to figure out a TV "streaming dongle" sort of thing that has enough beans to handle Steam Remote Play. The "Chromecast with Google TV 4k" devices that I have introduce so much video latency it's crazy. And I've had no luck finding a good setup with an rPi yet
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Used to think the video latency issue was because it was on wifi, but nope, same shit even after moving them to ethernet

@Sicklyboy have you tried the xiaomi ones? I have a 4 year old one that managed to work just fine (tested once for fun).
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@Skelletonike, nope, not yet. only tried a LineageOS Android TV build and raspbian (with Plasma Big Screen which I can't get to work) on a pi4. Was thinking about running over to walmart today and seeing if they had their "Onn" brand Android streaming box in stock. Heard good things about those
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or a 4k firestick, I have several n they work great (mostly stream kodi from NAS drive) n they cheap. $25-50
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I've had such crappy experiences with fire sticks that I don't want anything to do with them

The old ones were crappy/ slow ui/ weak WiFi but new gen better, at least for me.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But I have seen people liking those ONN stream boxes, and they come w no bloatware which is nice. (firesticks has tons of bloat)
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I also use PiHole on my network which blocks most that crap, I definitely noticed all my smart stuff seems to work better after setting up PiHole
