since this card runs game the same as a retail copy why is a template needed? what does the information in the template change?
is it because the rom dumps edit some info and it needs to be changed back or something else?

reminds me a lot of the g5lite days on the DS.

Its adding new dumps, if it is isnt in template it wont write to microsd

iirc, you could only play games that were listed in their template. So they just increased their library and not +10 games
