I belive that my new3ds dies faster in closed mode when sky3ds inside.
So, did anybody power-efficent test, to say for sure - how long new3ds will last with closed lid with regular cartridge inside vs sky3ds inside?

and one more thing - I am using NTR cfw, cause I have jpn system. Maybe it cause power leaking?

I find power drain while closed is about the same, but I have noticed faster drain while playing games.

Quit the games before you close the lid. Having to store a "snapshot" of the game in RAM drains the battery. There's also the fact that the accelerometer keeps working (counting steps), wifi's working, streetpass... they all take up available juice. The battery can only be charged a limited number of times (usually 400-500 times), after which it starts to hold less charge and break down. Personally I wouldn't leave it on overnight. Maybe for a quick 15-30 minute break. Otherwise, system shutdown. Or you could just replace the battery every 2-3 years or so. It's not that difficult.

That's completely the opposite of what Nintendo wants you to do with Streetpassing. Heh.

it does have a microcontroller of some kind whereas a retail game is basically nothing but memory.
more hardware = more power drain
