Hi GBATemp crew,

I own a EUR Region N3DS XL and I've also got a Sky3DS+. I've been noticing that sometimes, my Sky3DS+ will refuse to load certain ROMs. The exact behavior is unknown, but let me show you the situation:

I have some games loaded on the microSD card and it loads, for example, Senran Kagura Burst (the Chibi is in the Home Menu's top screen and says "Start"). I switch to another game, for example, Cubic Ninja by pressing the orange button closest to the LED on the cart and can confirm Senran Kagura is "Ejected" (the 3DS does the disappear animation) and Cubic Ninja is "Inserted" (the 3DS does the appear animation).

However, this is where things get tricky. I've got a game, for example, Fire Emblem Awakening which doesn't want to load off the cart. Here's where one of two things happen:

1. The Sky3DS+ will "eject" the game currently loaded (ie. Cubic Ninja). The red LED will flash on the Sky3DS cart, followed by a solid Green LED, then nothing. The home screen menu will show no card icon (just a empty outline).

2. The Sky3DS+ will do the same as 1 but it will jump back to the last played/loaded (?) game. For example, Cubic Ninja -> (assuming it attempts to load FE Awakening) -> Cubic Ninja.

This led me to believe that the ROMs of those said games are corrupt, or were made using another flash cart that wrote the ROM dump and are incompatible with the Sky3DS+. My 3DS XL is currently the latest firmware supported by the Sky3DS+ (10.3.28-E) I believe, and the Sky3DS+ firmware is v100.

One other question - what does the 3DS OS say when you've inserted a game off a flash cart that is out of region? Will it appear with a prohibited icon or will it just not come up?

If the game doesn't load from your Sky3DS, it is likely the wrong region game for your 3DS.

If your 3DS is already on with no game in the slot, inserting an out of region game will be ignored and not load like you have nothing in it.
If your 3DS is off and the out of region game is in the slot when you turn it on, it will spit out an error message telling you remove the game and reboot.
