I'm a bit confused... I've tried the whole savegame backup stuff with diskwriter 1.04b5 without success.

now I've extracted 3 savegames with diskwriter 1.07, but two of them are 0-Byte files.
I think in a 0-Byte files is nothing to restore, but I have a save in this game.

And why isn't 1.07 listed on the Sky3ds page? no official release?

The utility likes to go funny sometimes. How are you dumping the games and what are the resulting files? You can dump all saves for all games (.dws, I think) or dump saves of a specific game by right-clicking on its name (.sav), at least that's how it worked last time I checked.

right-click, backup save.../ right-click, restore save...

CTR-P-BALP: 0-Byte
CTR-P-AWAP: 0-Byte
CTR-P-BTHP: 1.048.576 Byte

- I've changed the game (pushed the red button).
- dumped the savegame
- played BTHP for one stage after I've dumped the savegame.
- changed the game again (pushed the red button).
- restored the first dumped save
- changed game in 3ds back to bthp
- nothing... still the newer save.

That's very bizarre, the application is clearly glitching on you. Are you running it with admin privileges? Have you tried using compatibility mode and if yes, what settings have you used? Have you tried deleting those save dumps to make sure that the application isn't just trying to overwrite?

yes, admin privileges are neccessary. otherwise I can't read the µSD.

I didn't tried comp.-mode, but I'm running on Win7 x64.
What's the recommendation for comp-mode?

Jep, saved the dumps with different names, so no overwrite issue.

Try running the application in Windows XP SP2 or SP3 compatibility mode, it was pretty unstable when I ran it on Windows 8.1, maybe you're suffering from similar issues on 7.

Are you using the "more than 10 games" guide? I think if you change the save type to EEPROM=NO then it saves the games in empty space in the ROM instead.

yes, I'm using the guide... as I've written above: All games set to EEPROM = NO

But with that it saves on the µSD, not into the ROM. If I backup the rom and restore it, the saves are gone.

I've tried comp-mode Win XP with SP2 and 3 now... I'm not able to restore my saves with disk-writer 1.07... :(

is this old or what?

I just got my sky3ds card in the mail, put in my 32 GB micro sd card and I have more than 20 games in my card... cycled through all of them. They all played. Whats going on

Try to read...

It's not that they are not playing, it's about the savegame restore feature ;)

gotcha. I was just thrown off by the original post about being able to delete a game and I thought "this aint a new feature."

Something seems fishy about the v1.07 version.

  • It's not on the official site
  • Sky has gone 1.0, 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 1.04, 1.07??
  • The modified date on the v1.07 EXE is 11/07/2014 - last month?
Meh... enjoy your red army virus.

there's been a version 1.07 at first update, but it been removed and replaced by version 1.01. so 1.07 probably is that rare version that hitted the sky3ds site really short (it ain't been there for a full day oh yead it used to be a beta release).
