Hacking Sky3DS DiskWriter 1.04b5 - Unable to recognize MicroSD

Error message:

Could not open the physical drive! physicalHandle CreateFile("\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE1") - Get last error returned 0x00000005

OS: Win7 Enterphise 32bit
(I tried using 1.04b5 on WinXP, it could't recognize the MicroSD reader.)

By using this XP modified version, it recognized my all readers and all MicroSDs properly in WinXP.

But it still fails recognizing all the thing in Win7 Enterphise & Professional 32bit.

You need to use Sky3DS Diskwriter to FORMAT card before use.
Open up Skywriter and Format option. If this doesnt work, then RE-FORMAT option. Then FORMAT again.
Remember, format and reformat will erase everything on the card.

Sorry to bring up this old thread, but I would love to thank you as well... I was freaked. So stupidly simple.

Apps on Windows Vista and above don't get exclusive access (like formatting, partitioning, etc) to removable drives unless you run them as administrator.

:/ I'm getting not enough free space to add image error when trying to write a 3ds into the card, and I formatted/reformatted it. There is nothing showing up after format on diskwriter v2.02 two windows and total disc space shows as -3025 (32gb card). Win7 detects the card and all that.(FAT, but it shows 0 free space out of 500kb) Is my microsd screwed?
edit; fixed, either the mSD reader that came with it was cheap shit and couldn't read the 32gb cards, or kingston doesnt work too good with it, used the msd thats inside n3ds and it worked.

Hi guys. My first post here. I'm really hoping you guys can help me out. I've hit a dead end.

So basically, I just bought the Sky3ds, and trying to run the DiskWriter, but when I try to run it (in administrator mode), I still get: logicalHandles FsctlLockVolume("\\.\G:") - Get last error returned 0x00000005

I'm on a Windows Vista, but also tried it on a Windows 7, with the same result.

I'm really not very tech savvy, so I might have overlooked something, but I feel like I've tried everything, and I'm getting pretty desperate, as these cards don't come cheap.

Open Diskwriter in Administrator use.
Click the right button on you PC-mouse before opening the program and choose administrator use

Also a9lh+luma is way better then sky3ds, unless you are stuck on 11.3
