I tried to install the .NET framework and it said my system already has it .. the template.txt is in the same folder as the .exe, and I've run as administrator and in compatibility mode for Vista and 7 ... so I'm not really sure where to go from here. :(

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Then if I hit Continue, my MicroSD isn't listed. I formatted Fat32 EXFAT and NTFS and I'm not getting anything in the list. :\

Test diskwriter in safe mode. If it works there, you have something installed that is conflicting with diskwriter.

Tried it on safe mode, got the same error message. I suppose I can try to run it with boot camp on my Mac.. Maybe with a trial version of windows?

I think I may be SOL here .. sorry for the double post but I can't believe no one else is having this issue with Windows 8

Okay so this is really annoying, but I switched computers and am now getting a completely different error. I get to the "Write" portion of the instructions and am greeted with a "failed to write Data, unable to complete action" error. This is ran under administrator, same OS. Perhaps I'll try compatibility again but I don't think its going to werk. :(

Ugh.

I'm getting t his error today all of a sudden. I was trying to add a game to the SD card and get this error. The only thing I noticed was an update to .net framework in windows yesterday. I've tried diskwriter version 1.5 and 1.6b5 and template 112 and 126

Edit: I put the sd card in a different reader and usb port and it works now.

Windows had an update to .Net Framework 4.5.2, and both my laptops refused to let me install it at first, but they eventually fixed the problem themselves, I think they just needed a fresh reboot or something. Glad to hear you got everything sorted out though.
