So if I have a retail (store bought) game of the Sims 3 and had illegal versions of the expansion packs what would happen? Would it be safe?

I have done the exact same thing.

    Yes.
    It works great.

HOWEVER: the sims 3 forums crap/downloads were not tested (the game isn't installed on my pc anymore)

most downloads can be downloaded by snatching the url of the .ts3package in the webpage's source. [IMG]
or you can find them on torrentsites
