Hacking Simple question

So tomorrow I'm getting a 3ds XL. I have no plans of hacking for 3ds roms or homebrew. I would, however, like to play my DSTwo cart. Currently it's been used in a DSi. It's all current with V1.23 fw. So my noob question is, is it plug and play at this point for me?

As long as you don't update the 3ds to 7.0 it should work.
