I just wanted to help you out just a bit because I just went through it myself. For the R4DS all of your skins go in the "theme" folder. In the theme folder there are 12 other folders. (Ex. theme01, theme02 and so on. Up to theme12.) I could not get it to work the way the directions told me and then I figured it out. They are case sensitive. Change all of the lower case (theme01, theme02.....12) to upper case (THEME01, THEME02 and so on to THEME12). Then drop your themes in each of the folders and your off and running. It took me two hours to figure that one out. LOL :-) Hope this helps.

Not actually true. My themes are all named "theme##." I recently downloaded a theme and it didn't work. I opened them up in Paint and noticed they were 256-bit.

Re-saved them as 24-bit and replaced a crappy theme with the new theme contents.

QUOTElogo.bmp
icons.bmp
bckgrd_1.bmp
bckgrd_2.bmp
theme.ini
gbaframe.bmp

^^^

That's all you need in the folder. Hope it helps.

Zombie_Mario.
Do you know why the process worked for me then? Sense I changed them from lower case to upper case everything worked fine. Every thing in the THEMExx folders are as you stated. (logo.bmp, icons.bmp, bckgrd_1.bmp, bckgrd_2.bmp, theme.ini and some times there is a gbaframe.bmp) I got them from "http://www.ndsthemes.com/index.php?". Thanks.

I don't know what to say. I just followed the instructions on NDSthemes.com and it worked.

where can you place the ROMs? Do they need to be in root directory? Or can they be anywhere and/or in their own directories?

How about homebrews like DSOrganize, Colors!, and LemmingsDS?

after you click the first icon for games, are you basically just browsing for .nds files (navigating through directories)? or does R4 scan your microSD and then output a list of .nds files to scroll through (no matter where they are located in the directory structure)?

Since the menu system is setup just like windows explorer you can put anything anywhere you want. But the R4 only displays the files for the dir you have selected. Some homebrew needs config files placed in the root dir. Other than that organize how it makes sense to you. I have all NDS Roms in their own dir. GBA Roms in another. I have a MISC dir that has Homebrew, apps, etc. I use a MEDIA dir for all moonshell content. You will have to search each dir individually though. But with my setup all similar content is grouped together so skipping around from dir to dir is minimized.

You can place them anywhere on your Micro SD Card.

When you click on the first icon you are presented with a file browser where you select any .nds file.

It CAN show you only .nds files by pressing the select button, you can control, by the select button, what it show to you.

me back once again,

downloaded some skins....looks i spend more time fiddling with the thing than playing games, ah welll - it's fun!

So yeah, i put them in the themes folder...now what?

I navigated to the folder through the r4ds menu and not much happened, could open the folder and such yet didn't actually change anything
