Well it seems Liquidigong, famed for his Prometheus modules and firmware, has signed and released 6.35 PRO HEN (Homebrew Enabler), allowing it to be executed on the PSP's XMB. With this HBL is no longer needed allowing quicker access to HEN mode.

Well Signed 5.03 HEN by Virtuous Flame was also released

Assuming it works on v3000, that's good news for my friend. He's been outta luck since he bought a 3000 and updated to 6.35 to get his free copy of GoW Chains of Olympus.

The problem is that if you accidentally brick your PSP Go with this, or even a 3000, then that's it....you have an expensive paperweight. With that in mind i still don't think that those unhackable consoles are worth messing with as they offer very little advantage over fully hackable models (if any) and carry far more disadvantages.

A signed HEN could run from the XMB, not the kernel, thus virtually eliminating the odds of brickification.

...

It still accesses Kernel functions, and anyone who's ever played around with a PSP will have had forum experience of someone who's made a boo boo and accidentally bricked their console.

The ONLY way to satisfy someone who's not in the market for risking a paperweight is totally disabling flash0 write potential.

Would there be a point in using any of these methods for a PSP 1000 or 2000?
Will it give better compatibility?

There's no point on using these methods if said PSP 1000/2000 has CFW already.

No. If you have a 1000 or early 2000 fully hacked PSP, just stay on your full CFW.

Unless you want online support without PSNLover...

Just know that Some ISOs and Homebrew do not work on 6.35 PRO and Prometheus ISO Loader.

Awesome!

Does this also allow connectivity to the PSN, considering that this is the latest firmware?

Also, is there any word on plugin support yet?
