Or you could get a hacked injected dsiwarehax from someone with cfw and a9lh via system transfer oncd sighax comes out. The easiest solution is selling your 3ds and trying to get another on 11.2 or less... Any sealed should be below that used may vary...

As much as I would love to, my new 3ds is Fire Emblem Fates edition. I spent days getting it.

You can soft mod with a dsiware hax system transfer.

rule of thumb if you are ever interested in modding: never click "system update" unless you know what you are getting.

No he cannot. That is only if he is on 11.2 or lower. At least until sighax comes out.

yes you need harmod or dsIwarehax, doesn`t matter as long s you have r/w access to your nand, then wait for hedge and greg to dump prot_boot9.bin

You can sell your system. Currently, it's still rather early to see 11.3 system hitting the market. So you should be able to find 11.2 systems or below right now.

You can not do that with 11.3. 11.3 added a NATIVE_FIRM requirement to homemenu, which basically locked out both dsiware and hardmod downgrade.
The only way to softmod a stock 11.3, is currently to sell it.

If you already paid 300 bucks for a 11.3 new 3ds, then it's just going to be useless to sell it for less and pay even more for a 11.2 new / old 3ds, unless you know someone who's willing to help.

Incorrect. You can install sighax by writing it directly to the NAND. Once you have sighax, then you don't need to downgrade as you can directly install CFW.

I do apologize for the of topic stuff @Gaming796 . But I don't get why the system that they use doesn't check the account info on the server before just saying sure they own it. Pleas do correct me if I am wrong, you seem to know more then I do based on your response.

Wait...so I don't need to risk bricking by harmodding? That's great news! I was scared that under the pressure of making it perfect I would break it. But I don't need A9LH or a hardmod..?

you will need a second already a9lh'd system or a hardmod, he was just correcting your usage of the term "downgrade", sighax will bypass the need to downgrade, but you still need to install it

Oh i see...so I do need a hardmod... Okay. And how would you install sighax though once the hardmod was done? This whole process is kinda new to me. Starting to think I shouldn't have upgraded to the n3ds at this time of the year lol

By the sounds of it you probably shouldn't be even hacking your system..

upgrading to a n3ds wasn't the issue, updating the system before checking it could be hacked on the latest FW was the issue

but basically the install will probably go like this, Dump nand with win32diskimager, run patch bat file, flash newly patched nand with win32diskimager (and copy a few files to the SD card)

Just remember, any modding CAN brick your device, so you're not completely safe.

That's why it's recommended getting it sent to someone who has skill in doing so than yourself

and im hoping it will run a payload or something on boot like a9lh. at least that seems to be what everyone is suggesting here.
