how do I install a9lh if I never backed up a nand and am on 11.3.0.36U..?

As of right now, you can't. All methods were patched.
You're better off selling the console and trying to get one new/sealed. Since they will not ship on 11.2+ yet. If buying used ask for the firmware version first.

I don't know why you guys think you need arm9loaderhax to install sighax. You don't.
You need NAND access. This can be achieved via any of the following:
1: Hardmod
2: Dsiware hax
3: Arm 9 exploit

Note that arm9loaderhax is an arm9 exploit, so it can be used to install sighax, but is by no means required.

i feel a disturbance in the heirarchy...

''Sighax masterrace, A9LH peasants!''

there will be an all out war.

And one race will be enslaved forever.

...i actually thought sighax was fake.

Its nice to see i was wrong!

kudos to you.

1. Depends entirely on your FW version (as your system will need to be downgraded to install A9LH first).
2. In order to install Sighax - you need A9LH, so if you can't get that - no sighax (after installing it, you don't need A9LH anymore).
3. CFW will never be blocked, only the methods we use to downgrade to install it.
your post is entirely wrong. all that @Maestrx needs is a hardmod or arm9 control, so in that case he can use either dsiwarehax/ a hardmod to r/w to the NAND

and also I have to point out that everything you said is wrong. also downhrades are totally unneeded, thats one of the main things we get when we have the bootrom, no need to downgrade to anything.

your post has been officially approved as wrong my friend.

Sudden question, and I'm not sure if I'll receive an answer since SigHax is still in progress.
It's been noted that Nintendo OS, which runs on Nintendo Switch, seems to be quite alike in it's core to 3DS firmware(or based on it). This judging I get from re-tweets I've seen on Smea twitter, but mayhaps I can be wrong.
So here is the question - if Switch and 3DS are running nearly-identical systems(or using same kernel, I can't quite say? Fix me where I might be wrong), would it be possible that in the future SigHax also will be appliable to Nintendo Switch? Or checking this would first require to see if Nintendo somehow patched the very same invurnerability on hardware level within their new console?

If it is indeed based on the 3ds firmware you have to take into account that they're using different hardware. Sighax is a vulnerability found at a HARDWARE level. Nintendo would be incredibly stupid to fail RSA verification on the switch too.

If anything they could have taken the most "secure" parts of the firmware and rework them for the switch,as it would minimize casualties for them. Not the other way around...

Well, so far it seems that it is indeed runs the same base. But again, I just assumed that this vulnerability would be in place, since SigHax is still in progress, and it might be possible that it haven't been reported to them as Switch development was processed. Or there might be a possibility of slightly different, yet quite similar vulnerability still might be in Switch hardware. I'm just curious of possibilities, chances and if any of those will be taken into account when hackers will be peeking deeper in what Switch is capable of, not assuming that Nintendo would apply the same methods to fail miserably on securing their own creation.

Like there unverified ticket system to check for ownership, you got a ticket then the eshop assumes you have the game, just wow XD
just why, why wouldn't you double check there account to know they own if it *sigh

I can see you've never tried to build a CDN before.
You know Sony does the same thing with PSN right?

I got a bit muddled there. I was reading this reddit thread (where it mentions how you could use A9LH to install Sighax) at the same time I was reading this thread so the 2 merged together.

So my main question I guess is, should I hardmod my 3DS so that I can read/write to my NAND using the stuff on 3ds.guide, or should I wait it out? How long do you think it'll be before the next exploit? Before May?

Lol as much as that answer is true, I still wanna know if I should just get my dad to hardmod it. Will the FIRMs on 3ds.guide work for any 3ds to use? Can I downgrade? Also, with a hardmod, will the sd card adapter just kinda....float in the 3ds? Anyone who has a hardmod, please help me out here.

Ninendo blocked downgrading the native firm in 11.3. To downgrade you would have to downgrade a few other parts of the system too, and you can only hard-mod-downgrade native firm.

This can be worked around by hardmodding to install sighax into native firm, but sighax isn't available yet.

So then I am kinda screwed until sighax comes out, and even then still need to hardmod for CFW?
