He dumped the bootrom and discovered Sighax + described/gave code examples of an implementation.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he's implemented it already in private since he's given out about 90% of the info we need (the last 10% is the bootrom itself).

The safesighaxinstaller is the 90% and Boot9 being the 10% = sighax

There's still no POC pics or videos though. It would be strange to announce he achieved some of it and leave out announcing the finished product.

He posted on /r/3dshacks about not wanting to publicly put out the bootrom because of piracy reasons.

Just wondering, I recently sent my A9LH N3DSXL in for repairs and they sent back a different console on 11.3 firmware so A9LH right now is out of the question. I want to be clarified of something, if sighax is officially released and works, all that's needed is NAND access correct? So I could get a hardmod and install it that way?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Since it's a new console, my nand backups are useless, not to mention I have no way of accessing the nand in the first place.

Nfirm downgrade was patched, not hardmod

Pretty much unless installing sighax with hardmod is a thing, or greatness that is a 11.3 exploit is found which probably won't be for awhile.

Jesus. No 11.3 patched NFIRM downgrade.... You can still write to NAND with both of those.

Oh, well due to it being a different console I can't write them as they aren't the correct NAND dump. Unless there is a way to do a CTRTransfer with a hardmod.

Yeah I know, though until sighax is released and I get a hardmod I can't right now. Sorry if I'm seeming like a noob, I thought 11.3 patched everything to do with downgrading. So yeah, if I can get a hardmod and install sighax then I'm basically good, all I need to do is wait then

Yeah you will have to wait unfortunately for sighax to get CFW on that 3DS. If you have another 3DS with CFW you could do Dsiwarehax to spare you the soldering.

But I thought NFIRM downgrade was patched? Unless you mean restoring a NAND backup in which case again it's a completely different console. But if that's not what you mean then I apologize if I am giving you a headache.

What I'm saying is you can dump the NAND from the console using DSiware hax. It basically does the exact same as a hardmod: NAND read/write, NFIRM patching, etc...

What I'm ultimately saying is DSiwarehax will be able to be used for sighax install, that would save you from needing a hardmod.

OH! That makes sense! I do have my brothers N3DS thankfully who lets me use it if I want to and his has A9LH. I'll just wait till Sighax is released and do it then.

Agreed! That's why I was asking if he/she had access to an O3DS or something with CFW, it would save from soldering, but if not then that's that.

There you go, that will save you a ton of work! Just be patient and wait for sighax.
